Our Story
Craftsmanship
Rooted in Experience
Amcase began more than 40 years ago, when Mike Mulford and Bill Adams started building custom furniture in a North Carolina garage. Their work quickly earned a reputation for exceptional quality and precision. As demand grew, the business relocated to a larger facility in Winston-Salem, where the team began developing flexible furniture solutions tailored to healthcare environments.
In 2006, after Bill’s retirement, the company became officially known as Amcase—short for American Made CASEwork. Today, Mike’s daughter, Marianne Mulford LeSage, leads the company as CEO, continuing the family’s legacy of craftsmanship, innovation, and care.
What We Do Matters
If you can draw it, we can build it. Amcase designs and manufactures every solution in the United States using advanced, computer-driven production methods. Our catalog includes more than 10,000 standard products, each customizable to meet your design’s specific needs.
As a Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB), Amcase delivers modular casework solutions that combine strength, precision, and efficiency. Under Marianne’s leadership, our team partners closely with designers and clients to create environments that strike a balance between function and form. Our solutions perform beautifully, enriching the aesthetic of each space and standing the test of time.
Our Commitment to the Earth
We build sustainability into everything we make. From sourcing materials and manufacturing processes to packaging and transportation, we continually find ways to reduce our environmental footprint. Our modular casework lasts for decades with replaceable parts and recyclable components that extend product life and minimize waste.
The Future of Casework
We believe the future of casework is flexible. As more organizations embrace the environmental and financial benefits of adaptable design, modular solutions continue to grow in demand. Amcase leads this movement by combining proven craftsmanship with innovative technology to build furniture that performs beautifully today and adapts to the needs of tomorrow.
